HIGHLANDS-based plant hire and heavy haulage firm, Shaw Plant Hire, bought the first SANY excavator in Scotland following their visit to The Black Isle Show.

The firm wasted little time putting the machine to work on a large substation and hydro project in Bonar Bridge, 40 miles north of Inverness.

The 7.5t SANY SY75c is the smallest excavator in the SANY range, available through UK distributor TDL Equipment. The mono-boom designed machine is fitted with an Isuzu four cylinder engine and Kawasaki hydraulics.

Shaw Plant Hire required a stable and powerful machine to handle the arduous and often boggy conditions presented by the Scottish Highlands.

Based in Ardgay, Sutherland, the firm has been operating for just over five years with a fleet of midi excavators and heavy haulage equipment.

The first task for the SANY SY75c is to assist with access roads to a large substation which is under construction through BAM Construct UK.

Mark Shaw, owner of Shaw Plant Hire said, “We have just put the new SANY to work on this demanding project and we are already more than impressed with its performance.  It really is a powerful machine and very smooth to operate.”
