JCB aims to become major player in powered access sector

JCB has entered the powered access market for the first time, vowing to become a major player in the $8 billion sector.

Project Plant attended the launch of the manufacturer’s new range of electric scissor models at JCB Logistics in Staffordshire on February 1. There are nine models in the range. By the end of 2017, JCB will have 27 new access products including articulated and telescopic booms.

JCB chairman Lord Bamford said, “The access market is a truly global market and offers immense opportunities for growth for JCB.

“It’s a market that is ripe for a new supplier with the ability to offer industry leading, round-the-clock product support. JCB’s 770 dealers with 2200 depots can deliver the back-up that global customers expect.”

A full report on the access range, plus other new JCB products, will appear in the February/March issue of Project Plant.
