Volvo shows off range at Alloa event

VOLVO has set up shop in Alloa for two days of demonstrations, giving plant operators an opportunity to get hands-on with the manufacturer’s latest machines.

The events, called ‘Live it. Dig it’, have been taking place at the Owens Illinois quarry in Bogside.

On show are a wide range of Volvo excavators including the new 75-tonne EC750E, along with the EC380E, EC300E, EC220E, ECR145E, EC140E, EW160E and EWR150E. Compact excavators, including the new EW60E, are also being showcased along with an A45G articulated hauler, the L150H wheel loader and two of Volvo Trucks’ latest FM and FMX models.

Visitors have also had the opportunity to experience the latest Volvo simulators.

Attendees include UK Steelwrist dealer, Ag-Con, who have been demonstrating the firm’s range of tiltrotator attachments.

Amy Metcalfe, Volvo marketing manager, said, “At most exhibitions the machines are static and you can’t really get a feel for them unless you’re using them in a real-life situation, so that’s why this event was set up.

“We’ve got pretty much the full range of excavators here and people have enjoyed having a go on things they wouldn’t usually have, themselves.”

Visitors included business owners, plant managers, fleet managers and operators.
