JCB has launched a range of branded prescription safety glasses with high street retailer Specsavers.

20 JCB frames are being made available in men’s, women’s and unisex designs in the licensing agreement between Specsavers Corporate Eyecare and JCB and can be purchased from Specsavers’ UK stores.

The glasses are available with both metal and polycarbonate frames and a choice of lenses suitable for a range of industrial settings. The glasses come with side shields featuring the JCB logo.

Specsavers is expected to offer the JCB range globally by the end of the year.

Senior JCB licensing manager, Paul Tudor, commented, “The reaction to the launch has been fantastic with thousands of pairs of JCB safety glasses sold already. We worked closely with Specsavers on the designs and we are delighted with the results.”

Specsavers Corporate Eyecare director of strategic alliances, Jim Lythgow, added, “We have subjected more than 440 pairs of prescription safety glasses to extremely rigorous tests. As you would expect from Specsavers and JCB, these glasses are tough!”
