New Stage V compliant Cat engine offers “increased power and torque”

THE new EU Stage V compliant Cat C9.3B engine is now available from Finning.

The six cylinder, 9.3 litre engine is described as featuring a high pressure common rail fuel system and simplified air, electrical and after-treatment technology. The engine can produce up to 340 kW of power and 2088 Nm of torque. Finning said it delivers 18% more power and 21% more torque than its predecessor, while also weighing 12% less.

Available in a range of different configurations, the C9.3B engine is available with engine-mounted after-treatment and installed radiators.

Keith Andrews, industrial business unit manager at Finning said, “As the EU Stage V emissions standards draw ever closer, the next generation of engines to meet these regulations have been developed by Cat, offering simplified design, improved performance and easy installation. Supported by Cat’s extensive experience in the off-highway construction market, the C9.3B engine has undergone thorough testing to ensure it can meet the industry’s newest and most stringent standards.

“The engine’s increased power and torque, combined with a simpler, lighter package, means users will enjoy greater performance and lower fuel consumption by up to 3%. The system also offers exceptional starting capabilities in cold climates.

“By building upon proven technology, Cat has developed an industrial engine that can confidently meet a user’s expectations for quality, performance and reliability.”
